the imagination of the a.r.p.

Aiden has such an imagination these days.  He comes up with lots of very interesting stories....for a long time most of his tales involved monsters or sea creatures.  They are told with great conviction as if he knows they are for sure true.

However, he's starting to ditch the creatures and is on a new adventure these days:

He's a pizza man & this is his pizza truck:
in his truck, reading his "map"
He says "pizza man!" then climbs in & closes the door.  Then he peeks out and says "what kind of pizza would you like?  Macaroni, Pepperoni or Pepper?" Andrew always chooses Macaroni, but I like the classic so I go with the plain ol' pepperoni.  Aiden then closes the door and sings a song that goes "do da do do" then he emerges with the imaginary pizza and shoves it into our mouths hand feeds it to us.  Then it's back in the pizza truck.  I'm not kidding he probably spent an hour in there this week.

Our new form of punishment is banning him from the pizza truck when he disobeys.  It's torture for him and he hates it.

And if anything is on the counter above the cabinet pizza truck he'll say with disgust "mom, what's your cup doing on my pizza truck?!?"  Putting anything on top of his beloved truck is basically the ultimate act of betrayal.

Then on Thursday his little world got about ten times better...we were leaving the house and on the doorknob outside was A PIZZA MENU from a real live PIZZA MAN.  He died.  He grabbed it and squealed "Mom...is this mine or yours or dads?!?!?" (he asks this exact question about everything he comes in contact with these days...just needs to know who owns what around here).  So of course I told him it was for him and he said "Did a pizza man bring me this?!?!" and it has hardly left his little pizza man hands since.

A few other necessities he keeps with him in his pizza truck are:
a bomb.  It's very dangerous.

& his fishing pole.

Love this! I can't decide if it's funnier than it is cute. My favorite part is that it's a perfect punishment.
