Aiden's big boy room

This weekend we made the transition into a "big boy" room for Aiden.  He has totally hated the idea of ditching his old crib turned toddler bed.  So his big boy bed AND crib/toddler bed have been set up in his room for almost a year now.  I didn't want to force the switch so I just let it go until I knew he was for sure ready.  While we were in Colorado last weekend, he slept on a big boy mattress with no issues at all.  So when we got home we decided that now was the time to take the leap.

We went to Target and let him pick out a brand new sheet set (he went with construction sheets, dump trucks, tractors, etc...of course.)  Then while he was out of the room I quickly took the crib apart, rearranged things a bit and then surprised him with his new "big boy room".  He loved it & has done so so so well sleeping in it.

It also didn't hurt that I told him his baby crib will be moving to Auntie Sum and Uncle Thad's house for his new baby cousin to sleep in.  Especially since he's decided that Auntie Sum's baby is actually HIS baby.  He saw her on Sunday and said "you have a baby in your tummy.  He's mine!"  And now if you ask him where his baby is he says "Auntie Sum's tummy.  He'll come out at Christmas!!!"  So basically, he'll be petitioning the courts for joint custody sometime in the near future.  Watch out, Auntie Sum!

Anyway...here's the big boy in his new room (and yes, he's hanging out in boxer briefs today).

We picked up the table and chairs from Ikea.  This was hands down the easiest piece of Ikea furniture to assemble.  And Aiden says that he can now eat lunch in his room at this table and the monsters won't be able to eat his food.  So that's a relief.
Anyway...he's a big boy now.  It's official.

Love it! Love the room, love the gender prediction, and the...shall we say 'excitement' for a new cousin!

That is so funny that he thinks it's his baby!! Cute.

Glad the transition is going well this time. It makes traveling so much easier when they can sleep wherever!
